Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.9 Delivery Controller Install

Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 7.9 Delivery Controller is a required component that brokers connections to Remote Desktop servers and virtual desktops. This article goes through the process of installing the Delivery Controller component on its own server.

Insert the XenApp/XenDesktop 7.9 installation media and click Start next to XenApp or XenDesktop depending upon, which product was purchased or is to be evaluated.

Under Getting Started, click on Delivery Controller to begin the installation.

Accept the license agreement and click Next.

Deselect Director, License Server and StoreFront because these are going to be installed on their own separate servers. Click Next.

Deselect Install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 Express as the databases will be created on a separate SQL Server. Click Next.

Leave Automatically selected for Configure firewall rules and click Next.

Review the summary and click Install.

Select I want to participate in Call Home to have diagnostics data upload to Citrix periodically or I do not want to participate in Call Home to prevent this and click Next.
